Dr. Sefton earned her PhD in Biomedical and Life Sciences from Northwestern University in 2013. She studied the AKT pathway in uterine leiomyoma under J. Juile Kim, PhD. Prior to the IMA, she worked with graduate student training programs and research development. From 2016-2019, she was the Program Administrator of Northwestern University’s Reproductive Science and Medicine Master’s of Science program.
Dr. Sefton was the Scientific Program Manager of the Sarafan ChEM-H Chemistry/Biology Interface Training Program before she joined the Stanford Innovative Medicines Accelerator (IMA) . In her current role, she supports Stanford investigators translating their work to the clinic. She works closely with faculty to implement first in human studies and proof of concept clinical trials.
